Inserting graphics in blog heading/article title

Is it possible to include a graphic image along with text in a blog heading? I am using the Prosumer template and was unsuccessful in achieving the look I want by adding a simple <img src=”myimage.jpg”> tag into the edit window where I enter the title of my blog article. I can get the graphic to appear in a browser, while the article title that I gave is repeated twice and includes one of the brackets character (I think it was >).
