I’m not new to WP or Nextgen, however, it’s been a long time since I’ve done much with my site. The big reason is that I can’t post images and get the desired outcome. I may post several images from a trip along with some commentary and what I’d like for the outcome is a viewer visits the site/blog post, sees the accompanying images and clicks on an image(s) thumbnail(s) and lightbox will show a larger version of that image. I would either post the images all together, so the viewer might see 5 images and only select the image(s) they want to see a larger version of or I’d post a ‘gallery’ where they could scroll through each of the larger images.

It seems to me that before WP switched to this ‘blocks’ (or just a previous iteration) it was much easier to work with lightbox and image posting. I did look for documentation and see that it dates back 7 years ago.

    Thanks for any thoughts.

    Hi @ipaddle4fun

    About the ImageBrowser

I checked your page and the imagebrowser seems to not be passing the images to the lightbox. I was able to replicate on my live site.

Please test if the lightbox works fine with a Basic Thumbnail, it works for me.

Once you confirm, I will report the problem for the developers to look into this.

    About lightbox settings

If you go to Other Options > Lightbox Effects you can select what to apply the lightbox to, be it only to NextGEN Images or to all images.

I hope this helps, I will be waiting for your reply.

    Thanks.

Many thanks for your reply, Jaime. By Basic Thumbnail, are you referring to the Media Gallery that’s a part of WordPress?

I checked the Other Options > Lightbox Effects and it’s currently set to Simplelightbox, All Images (FWIW).

    I created a test post where I….

    1) added a Block, 2) added an image, 3) saved the draft and previewed the image. I was not able to click on the image. It was just ’embedded’ as a part of the post.

Then I edited the draft and instead choose the Tiled Gallery in the block and added a second image. Saved and published. And it works (mostly) as I hoped. You click on the image and it shows the image in full size.

@jaimeimagely any luck on getting this pushed to developers?

    Hi @ipaddle4fun

By Basic Thumbnail I was refererring to the NextGEN Gallery type, I used Basic Thumbnail Grid and the lightbox worked fine.

You mentioned you have used Tile, that is a paid display type, if you have a paid account I would appreciate if you open a ticket from https://imagely.com/support , that will speed up the process.

    Thanks

    Hi @ipaddle4fun ,

We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation (please just see my post above).

    Thanks!
