• Hi peoples…

I just installed WP.com a few days ago, and am in the process of launching a blog.
I initially removed the standard “just another wordpress blog” tagline, and replaced it with my own. When I check the settings, this is still the case.

However, when I do a google search for my blog, the default tagline is written. ??

Is there something else I can do?

    Thanks so much,

  • You just have to wait until Google crawls your web site again and updates the listing for your website.

Keeping in mind that there are No set/specific times for Crawling/Indexing. It is all done on a site-by-site basis and it depends on how popular etc. your site is.

However you do have some control over the GoogleBot if you go here.

Just in case, I post an information here. I doubt it’s the case, but there’s a small chance it may be relevant.

My wife had a similar but different issue, she changed her tag line in the wordpress options, the changed had been saved in the database, however what was shown to the users, as loaded by the blog template, was the previous tagline.

The culprit, as we finally discovered, was the ZdMultilang plugin, who had taken it upon himself to have priority serving a tagline, which he copied from the blog’s tagline at the moment he was installed. Changing it in the plugin’s options was the key.

Once again, I doubt it’s the case here, but you never know, at least I shared the useful info ??

Thank you so much. I appreciate your suggestions. For now, I’ll wait a bit till Google crawls my site again. ??
