I’m having a problem that started happening in (roughly) the past month. When I insert a (long ago uploaded) .bmp file, it appears collapsed to 1×1 pixels by default! I then have to edit it, go to the Advanced Settings tab, click the “Original Size” button, click “Update.” It now appears normal in the editor, but in a preview it is still smaller than normal. I can no longer get it to appear normal size. So, I’m wondering what has happened recently since this never used to happen.

I’ve used this same file over and over (it’s a custom separator inserted between subjects) with no problem until just recently. All my old posts that use this file still look normal. I just noticed this behavior today when composing a new post draft. Very puzzling.

    Thanks!

Well I seem to have solved part of my problem.

It seems to be a Weaver II theme related issue. If I check “No image borders” in Main options, Content area, the image appears normally. But the insertion problem still exists and I have to edit as above each time (which I never had to do before). Will continue to investigate the theme.

I think I’ve eliminated changes in the theme having anything to do with this problem. It seems to be associated with the basic editor. If I disable TinyMCE, the insertion problem persists.

By the way, inserting larger jpg images works fine. The problem occurs when I insert this very small .bmp image (61×8 pixels normal size).

Possibly related to .bmp not being a supported file type?

Fair enough – thanks. My oversight. I can convert it and will try that next.

Still, I wonder why it’s worked perfectly well for the past year. Just got lucky I guess.

Converting to jpg worked fine and solved the problem. Thanks for pointing out my novice problem. ??

I’ve also got a 1 X 1 problem, but it’s different from yours. Since the last time we upgraded to the new version, every photo I insert into a post gets put in as 1 X 1 pixel. I have to go in manually and remove that coding so that it will show up the normal size. Any ideas how I can change that default setting?

I have the same problem. All images I add to a post are 1 x 1 pixels in the latest update.

I have the same problem with the latest update.
