  • You may want to try disabling plugins (assuming you have some installed and active) one at a time to see if one is the cause of that behavior.

    I sure mention that I have disabled all plug-ins. All updates are installed as well.

    Try clearing any caching on your site and browser. Try another browser.

    Then try deactivating ALL plugins AND switching to the twentytwelve theme. Test again. If that works, reverse your steps one by one to find which plugin (or your theme) is causing that problem.

    Thanks! I switched themes and reversed all of my steps and nothing. Still does not work.

    Are you first typing the text to make into a link – then highlighting (selecting) the text – then the link button should become visible?

    Yes: I first type in the text and then highlight the text. The link button then becomes visible (and clickable). However, when I click the button, nothing shows up.

    I have tried using different browswers: IE, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox as well as different computers. I have the same problem on all.

    Then the next standard troubleshooting step is to reset the plugins folder – by renaming it:

    wp-content
        plugins.HOLD

    You’ll need to do that using FTP or Cpanel to access the files on the server.

    Once that’s renamed (keeping them deactivated), switch to the twentytwelve theme – and test again.

    Just tried that. No difference.

    I don’t see twentytwelve on your site. What theme are you using?

    Sorry should clarify I changed to twentytwelve and then back to my normal theme (Yoo Cloud)

    Is the theme compatible with WP3.6 and all the plugins you are using?

    Yes. So the authors of the theme told me – I went through their support first.
