“Insert Into Post” button grayed out.

  • I know this is an old topic but we are having a problem when creating a new post or portfolio in either Classic Editor or WP Bakery Builder and attempting to add a video using the latest version of your plugin Videopack via the “Embed Video From URL” option. The “Insert into post” button stays grayed out. The media files we are linking to are located within our Media Library so this should not be an issue. In fact deploying the “Insert From URL” WP option works fine. If I could send a screenshot via this forum I would…but.
    Your earlier version using shortcodes worked just fine. Any chance we can downgrade?

    You can always download old versions here if you think that will help, although not that much has changed in the shortcode insert workflow. Is there a reason you’re using the Embed Video From URL tab, which is only designed for embedding videos outside of the Media Library? You should be able to insert the shortcode into the Classic Editor using the normal “Add Media” tab then click “Insert into post” from there.

    Well I’d use a shortcode but no links to one appear anywhere in the WP dashboard [latest version running on macOS 15.4] that I can find. And the Videopack settings don’t appear to have links to any shortcode either. So we tried to use the “Embed Video From URL” option of the Add Media db. I must be missing something – like the earlier version which, if memory serves, did.

    Okay…I think I’ve finally “fingered” it out. Set up media parameters in Settings; Create a new post/portfolio; Choose an already uploaded video from the Media Library; paste in media specific URLs in the appropriate fields on the media dashboard; adjust parameters specific to this video file; paste it into the post/portfolio, and voila!

    Thanks for holding my hand while I get my brain to work. Must be COVID related.
