Insert Image in Email Message

Used to be able to just add a logo to email message body with basic <img src=”IMG URL”>.
This does not work anymore. Saw older post by plugin author who said to add { and } right in front of and behind url respectively…this also does not work, perhaps due to changes in updates.
I’m at a loss. Any help?
