Insert ads between posts in category, tag and blog pages

  • Please write a code snippet for functions.php. I want to insert Adsense code after every 3 posts (excerpts) in category, tag and blog archive pages.

    Have you considered using a plugin for this instead? I know there are some available which could provide that functionality as well.

    Those plugins generally have too many features complicating things and even limiting other things in order to upsell the premium version. For instance, one such plugin was not showing ads on cached pages for forcing people buy their ‘cache buster’ add-on. So, I thought this would be a simpler and risk-free solution.
