    Hello, dear Download Monitor Gurus!

I have a nice image “listen to our interview now!” on our webiste. When its clicked, I want to open up a new tab with the browser-embedded player. This works on the URL given, but without Download Monitor involved – yet. But I really need to count my listerners.

    How is that possible?

    Thank you,

    Andee!

  • Hey Andee,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

While this is not what our plugin is designed to do, you can make it happen by setting up the same URL (of the audio/video) and then set the “Redirect to File” option. You will also need to add the link manually so you can set the option of opening it in a new tab.

If you have not already installed, our plugin then I would suggest doing it and testing it. If you run into any issues, let us know :).

    I have a similar question.
Is it possible to insert the download link into an HTML ref so I can allow visitors to click on an image to get the file download? In particular, each image would be different though, otherwise I could change the template file.
In my example I am providing magazine issues where the image is the magazine front cover and the link should be to the download file.

    Hey @bobjgarrett,

Yes, you can get the link generated by our plugin and add it to any element.

P.S. In future I would request you to create a new topic/post instead of replying to an existing topic as it’s not always related to your issue and secondly because if a issue is marked as resolved, then we don’t check it again,
