Insanely Slow

  • Even on the demo server, a typical search takes 4-5 seconds, which is way too long for a live search.

    This is a great feature, but not quite as useful as it could be.

    One thing that could be done to improve performance is to wrap the ajax_search_products function in get/set transient – this gives nearly instant results for commonly searched things. I set the transient expiration to 6hrs, but transients could be purged each time products are added or updated, and you could add the caching option in your options panel.

    Yes, we realized that the plugin, when there are many items and above variations, becomes slow. For this we have scheduled an update plugin premium (new version) that will improve the performance of the plugin using search indexes and making it truly instant.

    Third! And additionally options to remove the ajax-loader and use CSS animations would be great.
