I am trying to set a maxlength attribute to certain input fields on the registration and account pages. It works nicely when added through the browser inspector.

However, I can’t see an obvious way to actually add this from the backend. I thought it might be under the custom fields tab but can’t find it there.

    Does your plugin allow this?

Yes, this can be done by editing the custom field and clicking on the ‘Validation’ tab and using the Character Limit setting:

Thank you for the reply and screenshot but it seems that tab doesn’t display for some of the default fields. Username, Nickname, and Email don’t show a validation tab?

Ah I see, thanks. Which field were you looking to impose a character limit on?

Honestly all three of username, nickname, and email. Particularly username and nickname. Thank you.
