inode usage

This may be a stupid question but I am going to ask anyway. I love your plugin and want to add it to some other sites I manage but I have a question. I noticed on my hosting account that my inodes were increasing, still have a lot before used my allotment but I want to make sure I am not using more than needed. I ran the plugin and it found a lot of things and cleaned them, I set to keep 1 copy and to delete trashed, spammed etc.
When I refreshed c panel inodes were same. I logged out of hosting account as well as WordPress and logged back in but no change. This may have nothing whatsoever to do with the plugin and I may need to be doing something with myphp admin or something which I did try optimizing on one of my sites. It reduced the file size but added an inode.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, I am just trying to educate myself as I go.
