Inline footnotes break when followed by tag later in paragraph
-
This is a peculiar problem I’ve just encountered.
Normally, my footnotes work fine. However, if I insert a footnote into the middle of a paragraph[1. like so] and then, later in that paragraph, link to a website, the footnote gets really screwed up. The
href
attribute of the footnote link starts with a double quotation mark but tries to end with a single one, which doesn’t work. Instead, everything until the next<a>
tag is incorporated into the anchor that’s supposed to link to the footnote at the bottom of the post. Things get malformed. The
tags don’t end where they’re supposed to.You can see an example of this on my site.
I know this is an old plugin, but is there any chance this could be fixed? This is a most frustrating error.
