Inline comments hack / plugin?

On some sites I’ve seen the comments form for a post display the current users avatar with a little text area next to it styled much like what the comment would look like after it was posted.

Is there a simple addon or theme hack that does this? I suppose I could roll up my sleeves but I don’t want to reinvent the wheel unless I have to.
