For some reason the initial hiding isn’t working correctly. It hides it but there is no clickable area to expand it. It was working at one point.

I am using 2014 theme and minimal plugins. I went ahead and disabled all plugins and caching except for TOC and same result.

I run 10 or so sites and checked on another site with another theme and another version of Centos and same thing.

I assume it is some sort of user error.

For reference I typically use Brave, Firefox and Chrome on my Linux workstations. I also checked two of my sites using Windows7 workstation with Chrome and Edge.

    Not initially hiding works fine….

The reason for the issue, seems to be that the CSS for ezTOC is not being loaded.

Please navigate to the Table of Content settings admin page. Disable the CSS option in the Advanced settings section.

If it is, make sure you page caches are cleared.

    I hope this helps!

Bingo. It was weird because it worked on my mobile (Pixel3A) but not on the desktop.

    That setting was it.

    Thanks Steven!

It was likely working on mobile because of the page cache, you were getting a version of the page which had the assets cached.

In between Cloudflare and WP caching plugins and browsers (and Shields with Brave) web-browsing is getting complicated…

For some of my webwork I have actually started using Edge in a virtualbox Win7 session set to never cache.

    Thanks again
