initial setting of categories to allow, consequences of deny

    hi,

    I am using google tag manager, and maybe I am missing some configuration settings there. I am a bit struggling with the following:

    what is needed to set different categories (e.g. statistic) to allow in the initial setting?

    when user pushes “deny” on the cookie banner, all categories are set to “deny”. But shouldn’t the mandatory category “functional” be always set to allow?

    Hi @vallered.

    By default, functional is indeed on allow. On the banner it’s called “Immer aktiv”.

    You can have statistics enabled in different regions if it’s set-up as privacy-friendly. For example, if you select Google Analytics and select the 3 checkboxes about privacy below the configuration you will get a question if you want to ask consent for statistics. On “NO” the category will be pre-selected.

    that would it be, having statistics pre-selected (not working with my settings right now, I guess my GTM settings are not fully correct).

    If the user pushes the deny cookies button, functional cookie is set to deny too (I checked that via right clicking the site, and looking it up thru the tab “applications”).

    I will ask for access to your demo, I guess that will clear things up for me
