• Hi there,

I’m a new WordPress user. When I put into the search engine my web address – elementscoaching.com, after the name the script is still showing as “Mar 10, 2013 – Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start blogging! Posted in: Uncategorized. Search for: …” I just can’t get this ( think it’s a tag line) to update”

When I did this initial set up I deleted the sample page, I’ve written my blog and about page, and I can see that they are on the intranet – amazing!! But I can’t seen to get WordPress to remove the line above a(in quotation marks” and replace with a brief update of what I’ve posted today as appears on other sits.

    Can anyone help please?

    Debbie

  • It looks to me that Google picked up your site and searched it before you had a chance to delete the post. I do not think there is anything you can do at the moment, but as you write more posts and Google are searching and listing that hello world post will eventually be dropped in the search results.

Maybe make (If you have not all ready) a site map and send it to Google. This might speed up the post being deleted as it wont be on the site map.

I am not getting the default post as you describe.
Clear cache and view again, use different browsers or another computer and view.

It showed in Google search for me. It was the first post listed.

Don’t worry. Google is aware of that.

This is Google’s cache of https://elementscoaching.com/. It is a snapshot of the page as it appeared on Mar 22, 2013 09:25:19 GMT. The current page could have changed in the meantime.
