Inherent Comment Moderation In WP1.3A2

I have a question about the inherent comment moderation in WordPress 1.3 alpha 2. Today I started getting bombarded with trackbacks that were all spam. Does the comment moderation that’s built in check trackbacks against the built in blacklist? Or is it just regular comments. Regular comments are fine, but now it’s not catching trackbacks, I was wondering if it even looked at them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
