Information option on top of page no longer appears

  • I used to have am Information button on top of my p0ages when editing, and it contained the Word count tool, which I use frequently. Now it is not there. I tried a different site of mine, which uses a different theme, and it is missing there as well, so I don’t think for now that it is a theme problem. Did this get removed for some reason? Did it move to a different location? Is there another way I should be getting the word count on my pages?

  • The function you mentioned is not part of WordPress but was probably integrated by a plugin you use. Check if one of the deactivated plugins has provided it. Or take a look at the active ones, if there is a new setting on one of the plugins.

    Contrary to the previous response, this WAS previously part of WordPress, but was relocated in WordPress 6.2. I came across this post while looking for the same thing. The screenshot below should help you locate the info.
