Can aac formats be handled by the Blubrry PowerPress plugin? Is it possible to implement this option? To overcome this problem we are using this workaround: we copy the aac link in the web browser, this one transforms it into mp4a url and then we paste the url in plugin verification tool and the check gives the ok.

Do you have other ideas for automating verification with this format?

Are you trying to verify a media file URL that includes an AAC-format file and PowerPress isn’t verifying the URL? If so, reply with the media file URL so we can do some testing.

Also, keep in mind you can just publish an episode with the AAC file even if PowerPress can’t verify the media file URL as long as the media file URL is valid.

Do you know why the AAC media file URL redirects to an M4A media file URL? The AAC file URL doesn’t verify in my testing but the M4A URL does.

the original audio file in raw format is saved within a CDN/DAM.

DAM converts it into different formats optimized for various devices, which is why aac files redirect differently to mp4a. We have also seen that the aac check fails while the m4a file check works fine.

What we ask is whether blueberry can read the redirect from the AAC file and validate the links to the M4A format.
    Thank you.

Thanks for the clarification. I’ve asked the Blubrry dev team to look into it. I’ll post another message here when I get a reply from them.

The AAC media file URL verifies now with the latest update to PowerPress.

Hi Experts, I’m veryhappy with this new function.
Anyhow sometimes the verification step fails.
I don’t know if it’s a problem of the remote party or not. Maybe a remote firewall blocks my request.
Is there a way to get a verbose log of verification step?

I got the message “the requested url returnet error: 400 bad request”
    Thanks.

Here’s what the dev team had to say in response to your last question:
“PowerPress doesn’t do any logging besides the standard php access and error logs. They could try using the network tab in the browser tools to see what this request is sending and receiving. If they need help they should send their media URL.”

Hi, this is an example of problematic url:
    https://content.jwplatform.com/videos/uTaXuyyl-9IVBMZf6.aac
I’ve got this red error: “The requested URL returned error: 400 Bad Request”

You can see the error image here:

The dev team replied with this:
“probably something wrong with the server that hosts their media. maybe it doesn’t allow HEAD requests?”
