Information Containers to easily update same info across site

  • We have a site with a list of board members who change positions every 1-3 years. The names of these individuals are posted in various areas of the site, sometimes alone and sometimes together. I’d like a way to have the area where their name is supposed to appear to be some sort of code that points back to that name in a master list. Thus, if I update that position’s name (e.g., Editor), the name changes across all areas of the site. Any ideas?

  • The only “easy” way that I can think of to do that is to set up shortcodes so you can do something like:

    [board_member position="chairman"]

    And use that in your sites content instead of the actual name.
