    Hello there,

I’m building an e-learning website for a client.

His company works a lot with school doing live events but, due to the virus situation, he wants to move everything online.

His goal would be to set up an e-learning platform where he can upload all his educational videos and teacher can then buy them to show their classrooms.

However, he wants them to access the files only once. Basically, after the purchase has been made the teacher will receive a code (or something similar) to access the video and other material. After everything has been watched, they won’t be able to access it unless they buy it again.

Does Woocomerce do something like this? I’ve never used it and got suggested by multiple people but I don’t think it can solve this problem.

    Thanks a lot,

    Daniele

    Hi there,

We don’t have any plugin that can restrict the access of a course to 1 time only. You might need to look into third-party options that might be available on the internet.

    Hello there,

    thank you for your reply!

So my client is thinking of changing the structure of the website.

He is now thinking of selling to schools a 3 tier yearly subscription. The main difference between them is the number of unique codes they get. 20, 40 or 60.

Each code can be used to watch any video available in the catalogue. (Hopefully, it sounds clear)

Looking online I found your plugin Smart Coupons, could this be used to achieve something like this? Or do you have something else that can be used? As I’d love to go with you guys!

    Thanks a lot,

    Daniele

    Hi there,

You could use Smart Coupons to issue a coupon that’s good for X number of purchases to achieve the # of codes element of this use case.

However, we don’t have any product restriction plugins, nor was I able to find any 3rd party ones, that can restrict a video to a single view. We do have the PayWall plugin that will restrict down to an hour, but that’s the closes I could find.

hello @kbassart and thanks for your reply! I misunderstood my client. The content will be available for an unlimited amount of time while the membership is active. I’ve been talking to WooCommerce support via mail and we might have found the perfect solution. A combo between the plugin Memberships and Subscriptions. However, I’m still waiting for the support to reply to my email so I can confirm everything to my client
