In =< 1.6.3 the plugin was called Responsive Facebook Page Plugin as can be seen in the readme.txt.

Then all of a sudden the name of the plugin changes.

At the very least there should be a short notice about this to inform the people who expect to see Responsive Facebook Page Plugin in the dashboard.

Thanks for using the plugin! Considering how many plugins spam the admin with notices, it was not worth including another one for something so minor, especially seeing as this is not the first time the name has changed.

A large percentage of the user base also received emails informing of the name change and it was promoted heavily across a variety of social channels

    Thanks for your reply.

Actually the notice I meant was in the readme file of the plugin and short plugin description that users see in their dashboards.

I manage a couple of sites for clients and “Mongoose Page Plugin” doesn’t give a huge confidence boost to be honest.

No worries, I can certainly include something like that if it helps.

What about the name is troubling you?

    Hi Cameron,

The troubling part is as a non-native English speaker “Mongoose” is a word that needs looking up.

It certainly does not have anything to do with Facebook or anything a plugin would do.

And again, for someone who manages clients’ websites seeing this pop up in the updates is a shocker. Only after clicking through I can learn what is going on: https://monosnap.com/file/bS3nGbu0IGf5Up5GyB1ee8a5UJk2Om

Anyways, it was just an idea to inform people who may not be super active on social media in the readme file of the plugin about the change. No big deal.

    Have a nice weekend!
