Jetpack Infinite Scroll Issue

    I am running the latest version of WordPress and my hosting server is running PHP 7.1. I am also using the Fukasawa Theme:

    I am having an issue when I enable the infinite scroll function in Jetpack.

    When I run this theme with infinte scroll enabled (using any browser on a Windows 10 machine) I am not able to load page 4 of the blog posts using the “Older Posts” button at the bottom center of the website provided by Jetpack.

    When I press the Older Posts button it successfully loads page 2, then I press it again and it loads page 3, but when I press it a 3rd time to load page 4 the theme becomes unstable. So it doesn’t load page 4 of the posts and, once I press it to load page 4, then page 3 of the posts starts iratically scrolling by itself and then post thumbnails start disappearing. So there seems to be no way to get any additional posts to correctly load after page 3 with infinite scroll enabled.

    From an iPhone, from both the Safari and Chrome browsers, and using the latest version of iOS, when I press the Older Posts button then no older posts will even load at all. Simply nothing happens on an iPhone when the Older Posts button in pressed.

    I also tried disabling all of the other plugins that are installed on the site and then just running Jetpack with infinite scroll enabled to see if there is perhaps a conflict with Jetpack and one of the other plugins on the site, but even with just Jetpack running, and no other plugins, all the same problems still occur.

    I am now back to running the site without infinite scroll enabled, which isn’t so nice. So any ideas on how I might be able to remedy this issue would be much appreciated so that I can get Jetpack infinite scroll working properly on the site. Many thanks.

    Hi there,

    Are you willing to share a link to your site so we can take a look?

    Based on your description, I’d say there’s something in the posts on page 4 that’s messing with the Infinite Scroll code. Are you using any galleries, iframe or JavaScript embeds, or shortcodes in one of the posts that would appear around page 4?

    Are you able to go directly to the 4th page of posts by adding /page/3/ to the URL? (3, not 4, as the first/initial load is not numbered.

    Thank you. I guess its possible there is something in one of the posts on page 4 that may be causing a problem, but I can’t be sure.

    Yes, I am able to go directly to the 4th page of posts by adding /page/3/ to the URL. But then it starts to crash as I mentioned.

    I also sent a support email to Jetpack with the URL and they are also looking into it I think.

    Thanks James. Unfortunately Jetpack Support already looked into it and they said they can’t do anything to help to resolve the issue. They said they feel the issue is on the theme developers side.
