• Hi guys,

    Site is https://www.oldheadingley.com

The site is still live, but I can’t access /wp-admin to make any amends…it says it’s stuck in a infinite loop?! I’ve tried on different computers and different browsers ans they say they same.

In the FTP, I can’t click through to the wpadmin folder either, with FileZilla telling me:
    Command: CWD /wp-admin
Response: 550 Can’t change directory to /wp-admin: Permission denied
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

    Any ideas?!?

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

Hello. Well i just want to say, that i also have smth similar issue as ics2s3b:
/wp-admin/ is not opening and is not reachable, browser tells that it is infinite loop
but /wp-admin/ folder is on FTP server and i can browse it
wp-login.php opens like here https://www.oldheadingley.com/wp-login.php but without styles (everything that is in wp-admin folders is error)

    What i tried:
    1. removing/restoring/ .htaccess file – no changes
    2. disabling plugins through FTP (renamed all plugin folders to ___pluginname) – no changes
    3. reuploaded wordpress files with new files downloaded from www.remarpro.com latest install – no changes
    4. i tried to rename my theme and use default one, but after renaming theme folder website main page becomes blank and does not reset to twentytvelwe or twentyeleven themes…

    i’m kind of stuck…

OK, so i figured out how to change theme in database, changed theme to twenty twelve – no changes

It looks like evertything, that in URL has /wp-admin/ is not found

AND voila. It was wp-admin folder permissions. It was not working, because folder permissions where 744, changed /wp-admin/ folder permissions to 755 and i see Dashboard!!!
