I recently picked up 8 clients from a friend that is retiring. Part of this acquisition includes updating and restyling the websites. I have to say, I am quite frustrated with Woo Commerce and Square Sync. If these customers did not have square terminals at their store, I would be looking for new solutions. There are two issues that should be addressed immediately

    1. Square Media Gallery Sync
      • When my customers spend time adding products and images to their Square store, there is no reason that only the primary image is pulled over. This is a HUGE waste of time. It’s like sharing a photo album with your family, but only the first image transfers. You then have to manually add each of the other photos one by one. Unless square is not providing the appropriate information during sync, there is no reason that the developers at Woo Commerce cannot write the correct code for images to attach to media gallery.
    2. Square Options and WordPress Attributes
      • Square Options are essentially the same thing as Product Attributes. When a user creates a product in Square and selects the appropriate options e.g. size and color, their store automatically generates the product variations. Here they add their SKUS, Price and other product details before making the product live. When we sync products, only the variations are shown in WordPress products. We are utilizing Crocoblock JetSmartFilters and trying to filter by color and size. If these Options from Square pulled in as Attributes, this would work perfect. But I have no idea how I can target “Size” or “Color” when the variation in WordPress product shows them as one combined attribute “Small, White” rather than attribute one Small and attribute two Color. Again, the recommendations I have read are “add attributes in WordPress and then modify each product”…..so why even use Square?

WooCommerce is the platform that grows with?you…but it’s adding more work for my clients at this point. This is just simple stuff that should be standard. All the information from Square is available to Woo Commerce through the plugin, correct? So use that data and put it into WordPress products for us in one shot. HELP US ALL

    Hi @logantate

When my customers spend time adding products and images to their Square store, there is no reason that only the primary image is pulled over.

As replied to your reply here, the WooCommerce Square plugin is designed to sync only the primary product image from Square. This is a known limitation, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

the recommendations I have read are “add attributes in WordPress and then modify each product”…..so why even use Square?

Currently, the plugin is designed to sync only the product variations. However, we understand the convenience of having the attributes from Square pulled into WordPress as individual attributes rather than a combined one.

It would be great to have you add your ideas as a feature request, which is where developers go to look for future plugin features and improvements.

I wish I could help more, but hopefully, this clarifies the matter. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to ask.
