Individual accounts for site users

  • Hi all,
    I think possibly might have to look outside the wordpress framework, but i thought i’d ask.

    I would like to create a site for multiple users, and allow access via registration/login. Once logged in users can upload a portfolio/personnal info etc. and have that placed in a pre-defined category for other site users to view if needed.
    I have looked into the individual scripts needed for secure php login, file upload etc, but was wondering if there is any existing theme out there, or a specific software package anyone knows of to integrate all these aspects.
