    Hi,

I’ve actually searched for this question off and on for over a year, but it’s becoming more important. If the answer is already somewhere, please don’t hesitate to link me there.

By the way, this is a really great plugin …thanks! We have almost 700 events already and haven’t gone into prod yet. It’s probably the most important part of our website.

I’ve set up 35 categories, in a two level hierarchy. My question is: during event entering, should we indicate (check the box) on both the Parent and Child Event Categories? We have checked both, but now for: entry, reporting and display …I’m finding several advantages to checking only the Child Category. Does it cause problems to not check the Parent Category too?

Any advice will be much appreciated,
    ~April

I’ve been so interested in all of these discussions by email, that I didn’t realize that you had responded to my question. So my apologies for this very late response. No, the authorized club members, utilize your awesome backend page.

Unless you’re doing something unusual when displaying events, not selecting the parent category shouldn’t cause a problem.
