Indicate whether invoice is paid or unpaid

Is there any way to indicate whether the invoice is unpaid or not?
And if it is unpaid, then could we have a conditional field on the invoice which shows methods of payment? eg. Please pay via Bank Transfer to the following bank account xxxxx, send your cheque to xxx address.
