    Hi folks,

OK first off I have a static page as my sites homepage.

I have created a new template by copying the default template folder and modifying the head, footer and CSS files.

All works fine until I attempted to un-comment the ‘Author’ code on the index.php file in order to display the author on posts which didnt seem to do a thing!

I then proceeded to remove half and then all of the code in both index.php and page.php from within my template folder and it makes NO difference to my site at all. I cant understand why.

I then tried this by switching back to the default theme too and the same result. I can remove all the code in index.php and page.php and it doesnt have the slightest effect on my pages.

Can anyone see where I am going wrong? Where is WordPress getting its info from about how the posts and pages are being displayed if the pages in my templates folder are not doing anything??

    Thanks for any help!

Which folder did your copy and to where, and which files did you try modifying? It’ll help sort out what’s going on.
