Indexing PDFs with elasticsearch

I’ve received a lot of help in installing elasticsearch on my server from my hosting company, and at last we got it working. However, for some reason, I can’t get it to index PDFs. I’ve enabled the option under Documents but it’s showing a yellow circle and search results don’t show content from PDFs that I’ve added to posts on my website. Please help! ??
