    Hey there,

Is there a way to prevent the indexing of user profiles by default in the user settings?

This question isn’t new and while I found the solution for the problem itself (preventing indexing of user profiles via SEO Yoast plugin), the logged in user still sees in his privacy settings that his profiles is being indexed.

The question in the user setting is as follows:

“Avoid indexing of the profile by search engines
    Hide the profile of robots?”

The default setting is “No” (although I’ve blocked indexing via SEO Yoast, as already said), so this leaves the user with the impression that his profiles is being currently indexed.

When there is a choice for the user, there must be an option to turn it on (YES, hide my profile from robots/indexing).

    But how?

    Hi @aesirsports

Thanks for letting us know. I’ve added this to the feature request list and if more people want this we’ll work on this in the next couple of weeks.

    Regards.

    Yes please ??

Hi. I would also like an option to set the default to Yes for this field.

In the interim, is there a way using php to prohibit this field from being displayed to the user?

The majority of my website users are non-technical and this field confuses them (the site is limited to a homeowners association organization).

    Thanks in advance.
