    Hi,
I have problems related to indexing errors:

    1) with the Google Search Console report.
It still detects a 404 error for a site page that is no longer present in the sitemap submitted via your plugin.
The validation confirms the error also in Search Console the sitemap is updated (I checked the URLs present and registered by the Console).

    2) with the plugin’s 404 report.
    – detect errors (very strange!)caused by the home page of the site itself during attempts to visit by browser bots (Mozilla, Chrome, Bing),
    – many errors caused by browser bots in attempts to access URLs that do not exist (invented?), like this one cwvtxpgc33890z / s_e-gIVu-llG-6e2d469.net.

These are problems that have been occurring in the last few months and I don’t understand what is happening.

    Thanks
    Giusy P.

    Hello @visureclic,

    Thank you for contacting support.

    1. Google can find URLs via other methods other than the sitemap, such as internal links or the historic data present on Google Search Console.

If Google is still seeing the page that is returning the 404 error, please make sure that you are not linking to it on the website and allow some time for Google to update the index of your website.

You could also pass the page through the URL Inspection Tool and see what is the referring page to see where Google is picking up the page.

    2. When you see your homepage mentioned in the 404 monitor it means that bots or someone else is trying to access the following: https://domain.com/https://domain.com

That is not the actual homepage of your website, so there’s nothing to worry about and you can go about your day knowing that the homepage is still loading fine.

As for the weird URLs being accessed, that is usually caused by bots and there’s nothing we can do to prevent them from trying to access those.

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
