Index sitemap submitted but post sitemap unable to fetch in webmaster

In checking the sitemap index, the post sitemap is available and working-

Could you please click on that sitemap row in Google Search Console to see what error is being reported?

This may be a temporary issue with Google.

Nothing just it says “Sitemap could not be read”

Thanks for the follow-up.

I checked the post sitemap in the XML validator and there were no issues reported-
https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html

Could you please delete the existing post sitemap in Google Search Console. You can do this by clicking on that row in Sitemaps, then click on three vertical dots in the upper right corner and select Remove sitemap – https://a.supportally.com/i/Cb7I8x

Then add the post sitemap again, but include a forward slash before the URL /post-sitemap.xml and then click on submit.

If the error persists, you’ll need to wait for Google to fetch it. Please know that Google can still find and fetch?your URLs without a sitemap.?
