• Help, help!

I’ve been using WordPress for my blog for the last 6 months with no problems. However, last week I suddenly noticed my home page (https://nicolebachelor.com) has fallen back to some default page that, I believe, is not even part of WordPress (I think it’s blogger.com or something which I first tried doing before I started using WordPress). It has none of my links or my blog entries or anything.

What’s strange though is if I follow the links of my individual blog entries, they’re still there – in the same theme that I set up and customized when I started using WordPress. Check out https://nicolebachelor.com/your-turn for example.

I’ve looked in my WordPress setup on my web hosting site and do have an installation there for my domain, set to the root. I tried creating a test one at nicolebachelor.com/test and that’s usign the newer 2.5 version. That works. But how do I fix my existing one (without wiping out all my blog entries, the customizations on my theme, etc)?? I don’t know why the main home page is no longer looking like a WordPress site.

Is there a way to view the settings on my installation that’s at the root of the domain? The interface only lets me view the site, remove installation, or upgrade it (and the upgrade instructions imply I’ll lose my them customizations).

    Can anyone help me?

  • Hi

When I type in https://nicolebachelor.com/index.php, your WordPress home page is displaying. Without the index.php I see your old Blogger blog.

I am going to assume that you used to have the Blogger blog hosted on your domain, not by Blogger. If you are on a Linux server (not Windows) there is probably an entry in your .htaccess file in the root folder that points all references to the domain itself (https://nicolebachelor.com/) to the old Blogger page. You need to have that removed. Your webhost should be able to help you
