    Installed on a WPEngine staging site with no other plugins activated and running 2017 theme and the “Index Now” buttons don’t do anything. There are no errors logged.

    I’ve run the plugin fine on other WPEngine sites. I assume something is wrong with this site’s database since it is not a plugin or theme conflict. Any suggestions for where I can troubleshoot?

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.
    Hitting those buttons should fire off an indexing process that loops in your browser.

    I would suggest only hitting a single button and waiting a bit for your backend to handle the request.

    The indexing process can be heavy if you have a lot of content and/or plugins enabled.

    Also I would recommend you take look at your logs and post here any errors you might see there.

    If you are running out of memory our are seeing gateway timeouts, I would recommend you lower the amount of items to index per batch like explained here: https://community.algolia.com/wordpress/frequently-asked-questions.html#the-indexing-is-slow-can-i-optimize-the-required-time-

    I would recommend using 10 as a new value for example.

    I’ve set the value to 10 and there appears to be no change. On all other sites I’ve used the plugin on, hitting the button starts the indexing process and has an immediate change to the button text. On this site, nothing happens at all (Even when hitting only one button and letting it sit for 10+ minutes).

    All other plugins are deactivated and a default theme is in use. Do you have anything else I can try?
