I have used your plugin to connect CF7 with Google sheets. It’s basically just a contact form that sends customer requests to a sheet – and in the sheet I want the users (sales people) to be able to select a request in a check box.

It works very well, except in my sheet there are columns that are completely independent from the form in CS7 – that means I have columns in the sheet which are filled out by the users of the sheet only.

In the independent columns there are checkboxes that go all the way down to row 25.

The problem is that now new entries made by customers now start at row 25 because the system thinks that row 1-25 are already filled out I suppose. Any way around this?

Also, after clicking “get columns” I left the 3 independent column values blank, as I could not find anything else that would seem appropriate like a “blank” option or something.

    Thanks

    Hi @martinbr !

You’re right, our integration with Google Sheets to add new rows must look for the first row that’s completely empty, no checkboxes, no records of any kind. It something is detected in a row, it cannot write to it.

Our dev team is currently refactoring that action though, mostly for efficiency, but the changes will allow more flexibility to help with situations like yours. You’ll see changes here in June/July, but for now, I’m afraid there’s no way around this to achieve what you’re hoping for. We can only target the first (from the top) completely blank row.

I will mark this as resolved for now, since this is a known and existing limitations.
