Increasing number of Recent Posts

  • Hello,

    I’d like to increase the number of posts displayed in the column on the right side of the page under “Recent Posts” using the First theme.

    I’ve gone to:

    option -> reading

    your-domain/wp-admin/options-reading.php

    The default lists 10 posts under “Blog pages show at most” yet the First theme seems to limit it to 5. I’ve tried increasing the number to 20. No change.

    I’ve gone through the CSS and have not found a solution.

    Has anyone found a way to increase it?

    Another thing I’d like to do is to remove “Recent Comments” from the right side of the page since I’ve turned off comments.

  • Hi Rob,

    I think you may be able to achieve this in either the dashboard or Customizer.

    For the number of posts, can you try setting this in your dashboard? Navigate to: Settings -> Reading and there is a value labelled “Blog pages show at most”, which defaults to 10. Try changing this to see what effect it has.

    For the recent comments, this may simply be a widget you can remove from the sidebar. In your dashboard, navigate to Appearance -> Widgets and there is a column on the right hand side entitled “Sidebar”. Simply open up the widget you want to remove (by clicking the small down pointer next to the widget title) and click delete.
