Increased bounce rate

  • Hi,
    after instaling Age Gate plugin bounce rate reported by Google Analytics increased by 140%, which is huge.

    Where might be the problem?

    Hi @squatter1,

    That’s interesting. Bounce rates are people not interacting and then leaving. Age Gate is obviously a blocker to seeing content so it could be that users just don’t like it. It’s probably worth digging into the numbers for that too, 140% does seem huge, but could be a small number of actual users.

    It might be worth curating what pages are age gated if you can, allow people to land on an unrestricted home page and the block them after that if you are able to.
