• I’ve been searching around for some place within the theme that I can adjust the width of the pages the articles are on. When I copy the embed HTML for YouTube videos, the default width/height is 640×390, but I have to end up adjusting that to 620×370. Really it’s a pain in the butt.

I was hoping that I’d be able to add a little bit of width to everything in that column so I don’t have to adjust the video sizes.

Here’s a link to an article with videos in it: https://behindthethrills.com/2011/05/cheetah-hunt-construction-update-5-19-11-5-22-11/

    Feed back is greatly appreciated.

  • An easier way would be to adjust the media embed size in the setting.

In the admin > settings > media

Change the width of Maximum embed size

This will ensure that your videos are always 620.

Adjusting the column with is possible, but it does mean altering some of your css which requires a lot more work.

I’ll try that, but I don’t think my husband is able to use that feature anymore. Since 3.1 he’s been having problems with that for some reason. If that doesn’t work out, what settings would I need to adjust to widen my page?

While that’s a great idea and all, but it doesn’t work. None of the videos embed and they just show up as links, which really defeats the purpose that I’m going for here.

I double checked to make sure the settings were ok.. They’re at the size I want and the box next to “when possible, embed the media content from a URL directly onto the page. For example: links to Flickr and YouTube.” is checked.
