We already attempt to grab the highest quality provided version available, so there’s chance that the video in question simply doesn’t have any better. However, if you can link to the video in question, we can take a look and confirm based on what we attempt to fetch.

    For example in this video:

capture this image with these dimensions:

Isn’t it possible to have a better image?

We have to rely on what Youtube provides for each video, and based on that video’s ID, we only have the “hqdefault” version available.

    What we try to find:
    https://img.youtube.com/vi/LTseTg48568/maxresdefault.jpg

    What we fall back to:
    https://img.youtube.com/vi/LTseTg48568/hqdefault.jpg

I believe it’s possible for thumbnails to be regenerated and everything, but it’s up to the video uploader to do that.

Is it possible to have your plugin capture the image “maxresdefault.jpg”?
In most of the videos there is the preview “maxresdefault.jpg”, much better than “hqdefault.jpg”.

    I apologize.
I noticed that your plugin captures the maxresdefault file whenever possible.
    Thanks for support

If there was one to capture with this video in particular, we would. Youtube isn’t returning an image to use for that one though, sadly. If you click through to that one in my reply above, you’ll see a small gray box with 3 dots in the middle. Wish we could ??

No worries, and welcome for the support.
