    Hi,

The link from the plugins.php for “Settings” is …

    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=seokiss_settings

… but the link from “Dashboard – Meow Apps – SEO Kiss” is …

    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=seo_kiss_settings

The former link has a missing “_” underscore and causes the following error …

Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.

    Oliver

    Hi @domainsupport,

Thanks for noticing this issue; I never use those links so I didn’t know! It’s fixed now, in the latest release.

There are no reviews or anything for this plugin yet, so can I ask you three questions? ??

    – How did you find the plugin?
    – How do you currently like it, is it useful for you?
    – What features would you like to see?

This plugin is meant to be as simple and focused as possible; but it should take care of the technical SEO well, of all the basics at least, the ones that matters for Google; a lot of other plugins exist but their UI is about the 1% that matters, and I don’t think it worth it (users lose too much time, system performances are degraded, and overall, it probably doesn’t worth it).

This plugin is meant for the real experts. I know the standard users will always love to see a plugin with thousands of reviews, with seems to do it all and amazingly well, so I don’t really target them; I would like to work with people who are actually building the websites (like I do, and which is why I needed this).

    Sorry for the long message!

    Cheers ??

    Thanks for sorting this.

I’m afraid I don’t use your plug-in, one of our clients does which is why we were alerted to the bug.

    Feedback from our client …

I think he actually broke it…

Now, I can get to the Settings from the Plugins page (Settings link)

But, from the Meow Apps Sidebar – when I go to click on “SEO Kiss”, I get:

    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=seo_kiss_settings

“Sorry you are not allowed to access this page” – but its the same page I access from the Plugins Display !

Testing it would appear that the “Dashboard – Meow Apps” and “Dashboard – Meow Apps – Dashboard” just show a blank screen.

    You’ve also got a PHP notice …

[15-Nov-2022 09:49:47 UTC] E_WARNING: Attempt to read property "label" on null in /wp-content/plugins/seo-kiss/classes/core.php on line 48

Shall we raise a new support topic seeing as you’ve marked this one as ‘resolved’?

    Hi Olivier,

Mmm, I don’t see those issues on my side.

The current link is /wp-admin/admin.php?page=seokiss_settings (seo_kiss_settings is the old one, it’s nowhere now)

    Maybe it’s cached, somehow?

Testing it would appear that the “Dashboard – Meow Apps” and “Dashboard – Meow Apps – Dashboard” just show a blank screen.

Can you open the Console of the Chrome Developer Tools to see what’s breaking?

    You’ve also got a PHP notice …

Seems like there is an issue with one of the post types registered in your WordPress install, but that shouldn’t break the plugin. You still can access the SEO Kiss dashboard somehow, right?

Of course, I will release a new version to avoid the warnings.

Thanks, I’ll ask the client to clear their cache.

Can you open the Console of the Chrome Developer Tools to see what’s breaking?

There are no errors in console. There is no way to visit “Dashboard – MEOW Apps – Dashboard”, it just shows a blank grey screen with the black WordPress admin menu showing as normal top and left.

Seems like there is an issue with one of the post types registered in your WordPress install, but that shouldn’t break the plugin. You still can access the SEO Kiss dashboard somehow, right?

There are no custom post types. I was testing on a MAMP localhost with Twenty Nineteen (also tried Twenty Twenty-Two) and no other plugins active. The PHP warning appears when you visit “Dashboard – MEOW Apps – SEO Kiss” (which loads OK). WordPress is v6.1.

With regards to our client … they cleared the cache and got their link working.
