• Hello,

When creating a post, if I browse to the thumbnail for “image-name.jpg” and select “Using Original” and “Link to Page”, the URL that gets sent to the editor window is:

    https://www.mysite.com/wp/post-slug/image-namejpg/
    instead of
    https://www.mysite.com/wp/post-slug/

Obviously, the path currently being sent to the editor generates a 404 when the entry is posted.

Has anyone seen this behavior before who may have an idea on the fix? I’m running WP 2.0.7. The problem first manifested shortly after I initially upgraded to 2.0.6, and installed the WP-Cache and Bad Behavior modules (with the associated tweak Bad Behavior requires to the WP-Cache plugin). I’m not sure any of those things is related to my issue, but I wanted to give as much info as possible. Deactivating both plugins has no effect.

Thanks for any help you can give!

  • I experienced this same problem when using numeric type permalinks. After playing with it a bit I realized that it only happens when the page has not yet been published and I am trying to view the page. Once the page is published the problem goes away. A bug?

This is NUTS – this is the only example I have found of someone having this same problem.

I have been “tweaking” as jim-grill suggested for several hours now and it’s just not working.

If you go to my site Comic Nerd you’ll see that the second post links the image to a page just like it should, but the initial post just won’t allow me to do it. It just keeps linking it to the /slug/img name the same as kmwhite

Does anyone know a fix for this?

The posts are obviously published, and I have played with removing all of the numbers as well, with no change.

    Please help!

    Thanks!
