    SEMRUsh is throwing back an error saying that the website has an incorrect pages found in page-sitemap.xml.

    The page is https://findings.co/my-company/

    I’m getting that the way to fix it is to Review your sitemap.xml for any redirected, non-canonical or non-200 URLs. Provide the final destination URLs that are canonical and return a 200 status code.

    How do I do this > Trying to rack my brains.

    Thanks

  • The sitemap should automatically list only real URLs, posts and pages that are allowed to be indexed. Canonical URLs should automatically match with the correct URLs.

    Do you have an idea how the redirect to home could be caused? (New Plugin? Template Error or missing template? Page is offline? Page was manually redirected to home?)

    I do not think that it is a caching problem (sitemap not excluded from caching) as the page seems to have been generated in May, but your latest update on that domain was written into the sitemap yesterday.

    Hello @wheelsofsteel Thanks for reaching out about your sitemap. Please share some of the URLs reported by Semrush.

    By the way, your Yoast-generated sitemap index is at /sitemap_index.xml/. If a URL is redirected, it won’t appear in the sitemap. This also applies to non-canonical or non-200 URLs.

    @maybellyne sure sitemap_index.xml is but sitamo

    Its only one URL https://findings.co/my-company/
    1 incorrect page found on https://findings.co/page-sitemap.xml

    @fob I’ll try and disable plugin -on by one.

    @wheelsofsteel Thanks for your reply.

    We checked on the https://findings.co/my-company/ URL and this appears to be getting redirected to the the home page of https://findings.co/ when we visit it in the browser (see image here).

    This is why you are receiving a warning that the page https://findings.co/my-company/ should not be included in the sitemap.

    To resolve this, we’d recommend removing the redirect and then try rechecking the sitemap to see if the warning is then resolved.
