  • I’m not sure what’s going on yet, but I do see something that looks weird. If you scroll down your pro-questionnaires page, you will see displayed shortcodes that are for Contact Form 7 and have 404 “Not Found” in them. That doesn’t look normal. They look like:

    [contact-form-7 404 "Not Found"]

There are several — looks like one of those shortcode/errors at the end of each section on that page.

Did you maybe put multiple email-download shortcodes on that page? Are you trying to offer multiple downloads maybe? I don’t know if you can put multiple email-download shortcodes together on the same page .. I kinda doubt it .. but if you do you’d probably need multiple CF7 forms & use a different ID# on each of your email-download shortcodes. But, like I said, I suspect that wouldn’t work. Also, you’d end up with multiple forms all on the same page, which would be a weird user experience .. the user would see Name & Email & Submit form for each different section of that page. So, I’m not sure if that’s what’s going on, but that’s kind of what it looks like.

Alternatively, perhaps your page is special somehow … like maybe it’s created by a plugin or something so that it pulls multiple pages into one page & that’s how it is somehow getting multiple CF7 shortcodes erroring (or multiple email-download shortcodes that are failing & leaving that CF7 shortcode i there maybe).

It’s hard to say exactly .. could be something else. If you want, you can email me your page contents (like the html & such that has your email-download shortcode) to dtynan88@gmail.com.

    Other thoughts:

    did you check Masked urls?

did you set anything to Forced download?

have you tried setting it to Both (rather than inline) and see if it emails you the correct pdf (set it to send attachments to)? doing this could help narrow down if EBD is the problem or if Download Monitor is doing something weird

    Hi dtynan,

Thank you for taking the time to investigate my issue.
There were shortcodes referring to a form that I had prevoiusly created and hadn’t deleted. I have since removed them and it is still not working.

I have been told that you can have multiple downloads in a page.

I had received feedback from EBD support to try to uncheck the masked URLS, however that didn’t work either.
Also tried to see if I could gget the pdf emailed to me however that didn’t work either.

There are no download items set to Forced download. I also tried with that setting and it didn’t work.

I created another page to test and still no joy : https://www.cera.org.au/test-download

This is getting quite frustrating ??

Do you have it set to Email right now? Can you change it to Both and update this ticket once you do. Also:

take a screenshot or two of your contact form settings in CF7 and mail those to me at info@electionaustin.com (or dtynan88@gmail.com). I want to be able to see the whole thing .. what you have From set to, etc.

Also, in the email, include the exact shortcode that you are using on your page.
