    Hi.

Just installed the plugin with BuddyPress and bbPress (both latest, as well as wp3.9.1) The plugin, kinda works, but it is not something that I can bring to my client (supposedly tonight) so I am going to have to find another remedy until it is fixed.

I need to be able to have my client as an admin, approve user registrations, whether they be real users or spambots.

Currently, A user can signup, choose a username and password, put in their email, and put in the name they want to go by (real name or whatever) and the site will email them saying that they have registered and all they have to do is click this link to activate their account. (this email should be saying, we’ve received your registration request and we are awaiting an admin’s approval or something along those lines)

So.. after the new user gets the email saying that they are activated, when they click the link, it activates them, but says they need to wait for their account to be approved.

This is an oxymoron and doesn’t make sense to me nor my client.

So at that point, their is no more email at all AND they can’t log in because the password they set is not really the password they have for that account.

So, after i take an admin account and reset their password and “approve ” them, the user THEN gets an email saying what their username is AND the computer generated password, which is another complete oxymoron.
You give the site a password, it tells u you are activated but u have to be approved, then to get approved and tell you your password is something that you never told the site.

Hopefully this all makes sense and I hope we can get this fixed, I’ll help anyway I can.

    Thanks!

  • Currently the plugin is not supported with BuddyPress. I realize that this eventually needs to change and it is on the short list of must have features but I have not been able to make the change happen.

If possible, I’d love for your help with this. Otherwise, I’ll get to it as soon as I can – hopefully in the near future.

    Should be somewhat simple:

    1. Make WordPress skip sending Activation Email.
    2. Make WordPress send email stating that you are in the system, but just need to be activated by an admin (also state that a random password would be generated unless you can save the one the user puts in which would be ideal).
    3. Done.

I am looking into ways that this can be accomplished. Details upcoming…
