The referenced image is not the correct image to be used as the page thumbnail, I don’t know what’s it’s being output as thumbnailUrl, and additionally the path is incorrect (images are served from a CDN on media.cpia.org.uk). I have struggled to find a fix for this, can you help?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @toby1kenobi

Thanks for using Yoast SEO. I confirmed the image returns a 404 error. You can upload the correct image in the WordPress featured image field when you go in to edit the page.

    Thanks for your reply.

The page doesn’t have a featured image though (and shouldn’t have one)? If we add one it will display on the page, which we don’t want (and the image that’s being used in thumbnailUrl was never the featured image).

    Please try the following:

    1. Install & activate the?Yoast Test Helper plugin
    2. Go to Tools > Yoast Test
    3. Locate the Yoast SEO section and click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations‘, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation‘, and ‘Reset Internal link counter‘ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that the specific reset was successful.
    4. Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Start SEO data optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your content.

Please let us know if the reported issue remains after resetting the optimized data.

Thank you – I have done all of that, it hasn’t changed that URL unfortunately.

    Hi @toby1kenobi

Primary image is selected in a hierarchy so the image is located in Social image (post, content, or site level) or featured Image or image in content or attached Image.

You can programmatically update the schema image URLs by using this filter wpseo_schema_graph . From our developer portal, you can find more information about filters and many examples of how to implement them.

Typically code snippets are added to your theme’s functions.php file. If you’re unfamiliar with using code snippets, we’d like to refer you to the WordPress documentation on how to use a filter.
