The home page in the XML site map says that 8 images are displayed. Even though there is only “2”. For image count there is one in the body and one as a background in the header. In addition to these 2, there are 3 more images, but these also act as background images for a plugin and I was reading that images from plugins are not always applied to the image count for the sitemap. Can anyone assist as to why this is?

    Hello!

We’re sorry you’re having trouble with the images being counted on the sitemap.

The Yoast SEO plugin detects images that have been added to the default WordPress content area or via a plugin/theme content area that is compatible with our plugin’s analysis. If those images are contained in an area where the Yoast analysis can crawl, they will be counted on the sitemap.

Thanks for your response, so it seems there no way to correct this. I guess this is not a bad error, just an unsual bug I noticec.

For now, Yoast SEO detects images in XML within the conditions as described above.
