    Hey guys!

    Incorrect display after Borlabs cookie

After agreeing with the cookie banner or unblocking the content blocker directly, the posts are totally slipped and also the Maximum number of characters is not considered anymore.

The header image is also not displayed.

I have added the function as documented here

    https://smashballoon.com/doc/making-facebook-feed-work-with-borlabs-cookie-content-blocker/?facebook

but this leads to the error that the Content-Blocker appears again and again under the loaded feed and also here the display is not correct.?

(At the Google Chrome Console you can find this Error: Uncaught TypeError: cffAddMasonry is not a function)

I have set here in the plugin itself the setting to GDPR both to Automatic and No and put the content blocker code for Facebook around the shortcode.?

Without Content-Blocker-Code and only with the setting “Automatic” the feed is always displayed and there is a communication to the Facebook server.

    Thanks for your help!

    Regards,
    Monique

    Hi Monique,

Thank you for contacting us! Are you still using the content blocker? Currently when I go to https://feuerwehr-norderstedt.de/aktuelles/social-media/ I see the cookie notification message with the GDPR-safe version of the Facebook feed in the background (no resources loading from Facebook CDN). Then when I click to accept the cookies, the header and avatar images load.

Normally you would not need to use the content blocker with the Facebook feed because the plugin will display a GDPR-compliant version of the feed until the visitor accepts the cookie notice (this is when you have the GDPR setting in the plugin set to Automatic).

If you are still seeing a problem, one other thing to test would be to go to WordPress Dashboard > Facebook Feed > Settings > Advanced, enable AJAX theme loading fix, and click Save Changes.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Thanks!
    Louis

    Hello Louis!
    Thanks for your fast answer.

Currently, the “Automatic” setting is set up because my customer wants the display to be correct.

When I use the “Automatic” setting, the data is loaded like the header when you accept only Essential Cookies. Then a communication to a third party server is established.
    The name is “scontent-frt3-2.xx.fbcdn.net”
And this is exactly what should not happen.

The setting AJAX theme loading fix was ready activated.

    Thanks!
    Monique

    Hi Monique,

It’s my pleasure to help! Thanks for the update. The behavior you describe when using the Automatic setting and the visitor accepts the essential cookies is the expected behavior based on the best way we could implement our integration with the GDPR cookie plugins. You may want to adjust the consent text to describe what essential cookies means on your site so it is clear that this content will be loaded.

Another option to be completely safe would be to set the GDPR setting to Yes, which will make the plugin always display the GDPR-safe version of the feed regardless of what level of cookie consent a visitor to the page accepts.

I hope this helps! If I can assist with any other questions or concerns, please let me know.

    Thanks!

    Hey Louis!

Unfortunately, I can’t see any difference between the “Automatic” and “Yes” setting.

Currently it is set to “Yes”. And as soon as I accept only essential cookies, a connection to Facebook is still established.
Because we use the plugin as a feature, this is not justified as an Essential Cookie. At least not in Germany, they are very strict ??

    Thanks!

    Monique

    Hi Monique,

Thank you for the clarification and sorry to hear that external content is still being loaded when you have GDPR set to Yes. Could you send us a support request here and include the System Info from the plugin so we can investigate this further? Please only include the System Info in a support request through our website as this should not be shared on the public forum here.

    Thanks!
    Louis
