Incorrect counters on SSBP and cannot login to SSBP forum

Hi,

Firstly I’m having trouble logging into the SSBP forum to ask for help on your site. I go the members login and enter my details and I seem to be logged in. Then I go to the forum and it says I need to be logged in. I’ve been round in circles a few times but I can’t see what I’m doing wrong.

Secondly I’m having trouble with the counters showing inaccurate statistics.

1) On (at least) one of my posts the pinterest counter has reset to 0. The post I’ve noticed this on is is https://charlotteslivelykitchen.com/coconut-chocolate-overnight-oats/

2) The Google+ counter seems very inaccurate and often shows as 0 when I know a post has been shared, e.g. https://charlotteslivelykitchen.com/all-day-breakfast-pizza/

Sorry to hear of your difficulties using the Plus forum. Note you can always email [email protected] if needed.

I’ve taken a look and using https://www.sharedcount.com/ to check against the counts all seem to be accurate – https://ge.tt/6HjYw3M2

This is of course not to say that you hadn’t had issues before, which could have been because the server your site is hosted on took a little longer at the time to try and get the share counts.

Fortunately Simple Share Buttons Plus has settings that can help, please take a look here – https://docs.simplesharebuttons.com/plus/share-counts/#count-timeout

Thanks for the update. I’ve had a look at sharedcount.com and the Pinterest counts are 0 on both – very strange. It would seem there’s a problem with the data Pinterest is sending.

However, I’m still definitely seeing an issue with Google+ where SSBP isn’t consistent with sharedcount.com. I’ve tried increasing the count timeout (I cleared my cache and put it up to 100) and the count was still showing as 0.

One post where I’m seeing this issue is https://charlotteslivelykitchen.com/homemade-cheese-stuffed-burgers/ (which also has 0 Pinterest shares and 0 Facebook shares on both which I know are incorrect but at least they’re the same!).

I’ve taken a screen shot of SSBP v sharedcount which I can send you if you want.

Any suggestions?

I think the Google+1 count you’re seeing may be different from a Google+ ‘share’, I’ll look into the API to retrieve +1’s v Google+ shares.

Those cheese-stuffed burgers look amazing by the way. I shall be making macaroni-cheese burgers for my wife next week!
